NHFC was founded by Head Coach Amber Davis in 1997 while Coach
Davis was still a sophomore at North Hills High School. Originally NHFC
competed in the Pittsburgh Interscholastic Fencing Association until
2001 when North Hills, along with Allderdice, Bethel Park, and Upper St.
Clair, formed the Pittsburgh Scholastic Fencing Conference. At the end
of the 2008-2009 school year the Pittsburgh Scholastic Fencing
Conference disbanded. As of September 2009 NHFC will become a
solely private club that competes in the USFA.
